The 21st Kunming International Flower Expo will take place in Kunming from 15-17 September 2023. What is special about this year?
The Netherlands, also known as the "Kingdom of Flowers", counting for about half of the world’s flower export, will be the country of honor at the exhibition this year. The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is organizing a NL Pavilion with 29 Dutch floricultural and horticultural companies covering the entire value chain. They showcase their newest floral varieties, latest floral technology, cultivation materials and irrigation facilities, floral processing, and services at the expo.

International Plant New Variety Protection Seminar (Floricultural Session)
Five experts from the International Union for the Protection of New Variety of Plants (UPOV), the Netherlands Plant Variety Committee, the Technology Development Center for New Variety Protection of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, the China Flower Breeders Association (CFBA), and the Flower Research Institute of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences will provide insights into the global floral industry, the current status and implementation of plant variety rights. Together with Chinese and international specialists, they will also discuss the protection and management of new flower varieties under the framework of China's new "Seed Law," and exchange ideas about future policy trends in plant variety protection.
In cooperation with Yunnan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China and Consulate General of the Netherlands in Chongqing will co-organize this International Plant New Variety Protection Seminar at Kunming Dianchi Exhibition Center on the afternoon of 15 September (13:00 -16:10).

Seminar on Modernization of Floricultural Facilities and Equipment
Floricultural specialists from the Netherlands and China will introduce their latest technology development on the implementation of digitalization and modernization to facilitate a healthy and sustainable floricultural industry.
Jointly hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, and Yunnan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, this seminar will be organized by Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chongqing, Facility Agriculture Branch Association of China Agricultural Mechanization Association, Facility Agriculture Branch Association of Yunnan Agricultural Machinery Association, and KIFE-IFEX Organization Committee. Seminar venue is at Conference Area at Hall 8 on the morning 16 September (9:00 -11:35).
Business Network Reception
A Business Network Reception for Dutch horticultural business companies and their Chinese business contacts will be held on the evening of 15 September. This reception creates a platform for Dutch companies to connect with Chinese companies and local authorities in China. This event is by invitation only.
