Bezoek landbouwteam aan Kyanja Agricultural Resource Center
The agricultural team of the Netherlands Embassy in Uganda visited the Kyanja Agricultural Resource Center. Michael Kirya, manager at the center in Kampala, emphasizes the importance of urban farming. The center is set up by KCCA to test innovations in urban agriculture and to inspire and train the people of Kampala. The goal of the Kyanja Center is to engage residents of Kampala in increasing and expanding their participation in urban agriculture as a source of income and food security. Initiatives like Kyanja deserve to be scaled up and expanded to transfer innovative agricultural knowledge and skills on the ground in a practical way. With a focus on Uganda's youth, which is of great importance to improve the future of food supply and create innovative agricultural jobs and businesses in the city.
