Agrologistics sector study for South Korea
Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs earlier this year asked WFBR (Wageningen Food and Biobased Research) to conduct a feasibility study on a food hub in Saemangeum, a reclaimed land of Korea. However, how much the Korean agrologistics sector has developed and where the opportunities are unknown. To identify them, the agricultural department of the Netherlands embassy in Seoul commissioned a quick scan of the Korean agrologistics sector to WFBR. WFBR analyzed the agrologistics ecosystem through SWOT analysis by looking into local production, agri-food ecosystem, trade position & infrastructure, logistics services, and institutional culture. WFBR also proposed some entry strategies for Dutch business and knowledge institutes.
