Best farmers competition 2024 launched in Uganda
On April 11th, we were very happy to launch the 2024 edition of the Uganda best farmers competition. This will be the ninth edition of the competition, organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in combination with Vision Group, KLM, DFCU bank and Koudijs Animal Nutrition. This year the launch took place at the dairy farm of Henry Lugolobi, one of the farmers of the 2023 competition.
The competition aims to award the best farmers of different districts. Farmers will be scored on different categories, like social impact, income, innovation, financial management and diversification. Incentives to join the competition are a cash prize and a training mission to the Nehterlands for the best farmers. Winning the competition will give the farmers a boost and make an example of them for their fellow farmers.
