Non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks increasingly popular in Poland

Poles are drinking more and more alcohol. In 2021, there will be more than 11 liters of pure spirit per capita. At the same time, abstinence is a growing trend - the number of Poles who decide to give up alcohol completely or reduce it significantly is increasing.

The market for non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks is growing - it is no longer just 0% beers, but non-alcoholic wines, gin or even tequila.

The younger generation (born after 1990), which accounts for 45% of consumers in the catering market, is increasingly turning to low-alcohol drinks or alcohol combined with non-alcoholic beverages, often combining them with visits to traditional bars, pubs or restaurants.

Younger consumers in Poland are betting more on flavours and experimentation. This trend is noticeable to us. More and more new brands of non-alcoholic beverages are entering the Polish market, especially non-alcoholic wine (so called wine proxies), gin and tequila.

The NoLo (Non-Alcoholic Drinks) trend is already so noticeable in large cities in Poland that this year, according to announcements, several establishments in this spirit will be opened in Warsaw, Kraków and Gdańsk.
